ACH (Electronic Payments)
ACH transfers simplify your monthly bill keeping. These
electronic transfers through the Automated Clearing House (ACH) make electronic/automatic payments
to accounts outside of Members 1st FCU. Many utility and retail vendors can arrange these, which
automatically debit your credit union account to make regular payments.

What information do I provide to enroll with a vendor or utility for electronic payments?TOP OF PAGE
When providing information to have electronic charges post to your Members
1st account, please refer to one of your checks. This sample shows the ABA
routing number and your 10-digit account that you should provide.
How do I start automatic debits/payments from my checking account?TOP OF PAGE
Contact the utility or merchant to begin electronic payments. Often they
include automatic payment options in their billing statements. You will need to provide the
utility or merchant with the information from the bottom of your check. This includes the
ABA/routing number for Members 1st, which is 231382241 and your 10-digit account number
beginning with either 0041, 218 or 777.
How will my automatic debits be posted to my Members 1st account?TOP OF PAGE
Usually debits are posted to your checking account. However, if the utility
or other originator uses savings account information, then Members 1st will post the debit
to your regular savings account.
What is the advantage to having my automatic debits post from my checking account rather than my savings?TOP OF PAGE
There are several advantages to having debits post to your checking account.
First, checking accounts were designed to support unlimited number of debits. Federal
Reserve regulations do not limit the number of debits or withdrawals that can be made
from a checking account. Second, Members 1st provides free over draft transfer protection
to the checking account in the event you have made a bookkeeping error.
How can I verify the electronic transactions posted to or from my account?TOP OF PAGE
Members 1st offers many options for verifying your electronic transactions.
You can check on Members 1st Online (home banking), EZ Call (phone banking), Telebranch or by
your monthly statement. The originator of the amount and date of the transaction by means of
a billing, invoice or paystub will also notify you.
I want to send funds to another financial institution. Can that be done?TOP OF PAGE
Yes, through Members 1st bill payer services you can set up one-time or
recurring payments. Payments can be sent to another financial institution or to any payee
you desire. You will need a Members 1st checking account and an electronic services PIN.
If you have these, you can sign up at through Members 1st Online.
