Make the Switch
What’s the worse part about change? Probably not knowing what to expect or what to do about it. It’s easy to MAKE THE SWITCH to Members 1st.
This kit contains easy-to-follow forms to help you get started.
- Simply deposit and maintain a $5 minimum
balance in your savings account. This initial deposits are not fees. This is your money always. Once your regular savings
account is established, you may open a Members 1st Checking Account.
- Are you currently using Direct Deposit? If yes, you need to complete the DIRECT DEPOSIT FORM
in the center section of this Switch Kit. Simply follow the directions to have your current Direct Deposit(s)
made to your new Regular Savings Account. You must complete a separate Direct Deposit form for every
Direct Deposit source (payroll, retirement/pension, investments). Federal direct deposits require a special
form. Ask us for details.
- Complete the AUTOMATIC TRANSFER FORM in the center section of this Switch Kit to change
your current automatic payments (debits) to your Members 1st account. Automatic payments may include
insurance premiums, utility bills, credit card bills and loan payments. You must complete one Automatic
Transfer Form for each automatic payment (debit).
- Are you currently using an ELECTRONIC BILL PAYMENT SERVICE? If yes, you need to either
stop the payments or change the information to switch them to your Members 1st Checking Account.
Better yet, enroll in our Bill Payer service.*
- REVIEW YOUR CURRENT ACCOUNT. Thoroughly review your last 2 months of account
statements to ensure you have taken care of all your current direct deposits and automatic payments.
- MAIL THE COMPLETED FORMS in this kit to the merchants, companies or agencies that you are
currently paying via automatic payment or receiving a direct deposit. They may require additional information
and your signature.
- Be sure to LEAVE ENOUGH FUNDS IN YOUR OLD ACCOUNT until you are certain that
all of your payments stop coming out of your old account. Once all of your direct deposits and automatic
payments are switched and you see them on your Members 1st account statements, you can close your old
account. To help you monitor your new account, use our free Members 1st Online service (home banking).
