Am I eligible to open an account?

If your employer, organization, school or church offers Members 1st Federal Credit Union membership as a benefit, then as an employee, member or volunteer, you are eligible to open an account.

We also extend credit union membership to your immediate family, including spouse, child, sibling, parent, grandparent, grandchild, stepparent, stepchild, stepsibling, legal guardian, or adoptive relationships. In addition, anyone who lives in the same residence and represents a single economic unit such as those in a permanent domestic partnership is eligible to join. Fraternities, sororities, apartment or condominium complexes do not qualify.

You are also eligible to become a member of Members 1st Federal Credit Union if you are an employee or member of the Antique Automobile Club of America Museum. Being an employee or member of the Museum now offers you membership with Members 1st Federal Credit Union. Ask a Members 1st associate for details.

Certain conditions and/or restrictions may apply. Ask for details.

What's different about Members 1st?

Members 1st is member-owned. That means we don't have to pay out big dividends to stockholders - we don't have any. We don't have out-of-state or foreign investors. We're locally owned and operated by people just like you. And, we know Southcentral Pennsylvania. We've been around since 1950. We're just not building here and there. We're an active participant in community activities and charitable events and are always on the move to help improve the quality of life in our region.

As a member, you own us. Everything comes back to you in the form of better savings dividends (interest) and lower loan rates. We encourage your interest on our volunteer oversight committees.

When you make your initial deposit into your savings account, it isn't a membership fee. It's your money that stays in your account.

So what if you have accounts elsewhere? Switch... we'll help you.

If you have accounts elsewhere, we make it easy to switch to Members 1st. Just ask us to make the switch and we'll walk you through the process.

There are no fees to open an account - just a small deposit into your own savings account.

A $5 minimum opening deposit and balance is required for all account owners.

This is not a membership fee - it is your money. Your savings account will earn dividends (interest) on balances of $50 or more.

Important information about procedures for opening a new account with us

To help the US Government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.

What this means for you is this - When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to properly identify you. We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents, per the USA Patriot Act.
