Golf outing check presentation to four charities

Members 1st Federal Credit Union held its 25th Annual Charity Golf Classic on Monday, June 6, 2022, at the Hershey Country Club in Derry Township, PA. More than 140 golfers and sponsors raised over $80K to support and promote the noble work of programs and initiatives across Central PA. This year’s beneficiaries include Aaron’s Acres (serves Berks, Dauphin, and Lancaster counties), Central PA Food Bank (serves 27 counties), Helping Harvest Fresh Food Bank (serves Berks County and Schuylkill County) and The Salvation Army – Harrisburg (serves Dauphin County).

“The Members 1st Annual Charity Golf Classic allows us to give back to the community that serves us,” President & CEO George Nahodil said. “This year, we celebrate our 25th anniversary, which is an important milestone to remind us how far we have come as an organization. Our credit union keeps community service at the forefront, and this annual event is just one way we can carry out our commitment to charitable giving. Thanks to the help of our strategic partners and associates, we were able to host another successful fundraiser to show our appreciation for our members, associates and communities.”

Members 1st President & CEO George Nahodil, Chief Experience Officer Mike Wilson and AVP of  Community Relations Sara Firestone present donations to four different community organizations and their representatives.

Representatives from each beneficiary attended a luncheon and check presentation following the outing and thanked the credit union for continuously giving back to the communities it serves, including organizations that are dedicated to helping change lives.

Each beneficiary that received funds from this event works graciously to benefit communities across Central PA. Aaron’s Acres provides year-round therapeutic-based recreational activities for children and adults between the ages of five and 21 with special needs. Central PA Food Bank caters to all ages, offering charitable food to those in need to fight hunger, change the community and improve lives. Helping Harvest Fresh Food Bank supplies food to over 300 charitable food programs. The Salvation Army – Harrisburg provides workforce development, nutrition education programs, emergency disaster services and more.
