Checking is easy and rewarding with us. We don't require a minimum opening deposit or balance. You'll earn dividends when you maintain a balance of $2,500 or more. We don't assess any monthly service fees or per check fees.  As with all of our deposit accounts, your money is federally insured.

Our VISA® Debit Card is the perfect companion to our Rewards Checking Account. For every qualified non-ATM or PIN-based transaction, we'll pay you 5-cents every time you use your card. That means every time you use your card as "credit" at a point-of-sale location or online, you'll earn cash back. Rebates are posted to your Rewards Checking Account monthly.

How Old Do I Have To Be To Have A Checking Account?

You may have a checking account at age 13 providing a parent or guardian is on your account. At age 18, you may have an account on your own.

What Is Overdraft Protection?

Overdraft protection is designed to help you avoid being overdrawn and paying excessive fees. You may elect to sign up for overdraft protection when you open your Rewards Checking Account. This will allow us to automatically transfer money from one of your designated accounts to your checking account. Overdraft protection may be drawn from your:

  • Regular Savings Account
  • Money Management Account
  • Supplemental Savings Account
  • Personal Line of Credit
  • Home Equity Line of Credit

Are There Restrictions With Overdraft Protection?

According to federal regulations regarding electronic transfers, you may have up to 6 overdraft transfers per calendar month from your Savings, Supplemental Savings, or Money Management Account (MMA). Transfers made using our automated phone service (EZ Call) and those you make using Members 1st Online (home banking) are subject to this regulation. Once you reach your six electronic transfer limit, checks may be returned unpaid and a returned fee would be charged for that situation.

When you have overdraft protection from a line of credit (Personal Line of Credit or Home Equity Line of Credit) you have an unlimited number of electronic transfers up to your approved credit limit.
