Courtesy Pay

We offer Courtesy Pay as a service to pay members' items when they have an insufficient available balance in their checking account, or are short of available funds to avoid the embarrassment and inconvenience of returned items, as long as the account remains in good standing. Having Courtesy Pay will often prevent returned item fees and late charges posed by merchants or other payees.

Fee Free Overdraft Protection Options

Accounts may be linked to checking accounts to transfer available funds to cover overdrafts. There are no fees for these transfers. The accounts that may be linked are:

  • Savings
  • Money Market
  • Supplemental Savings

Lines of Credit may be used to cover occasions where there is insufficient available balance in a checking account. There are no fees for these transfers but the loan will accrue interest (based on your APR) based on outstanding balance owed. The Lines of Credit that may be used are:

  • Personal Line of Credit
  • HELOC (Home Equity Line of Credit)

How to Set Up Overdraft Protection

Options to set up Overdraft Protection:

  • Log into Online Banking, top menu click Services, left menu under Checking Services click Overdraft Services, click Set-Up or Manage Sources.
  • You may visit any branch.
  • Call Customer Service at (800) 237-7288.

Q. Is there a fee for this discretionary service?
A. Only when the service is used, you pay a Courtesy Pay fee (see service charges) for each item paid.

Q. How do I know what my Courtesy Pay limit is?
A. Your Courtesy Pay limit will be available on Members 1st Online. The limit may change periodically.

Q. What types of transactions are covered by Courtesy Pay?
A. Check, ACH debit, bill pay and recurring debit transactions. For ATM and debit card purchases, you must request for us to cover and pay those items.
