Members 1st Federal Credit Union joined credit unions across Pennsylvania and New Jersey in October to celebrate CU Kind Month, an annual initiative of the CrossState Credit Union Association that highlights the power of people helping people through community service and impact.
Throughout October, Members 1st associates participated in several initiatives designed to support local families, veterans and service members across the region. At the credit union's Enola headquarters, associates collected items for the Ronald McDonald House of Central PA and created handwritten care cards for families staying there while their children received medical treatment.
In recognition of America 250 and the credit union's military roots, associates across Members 1st's nearly 60 branches also collected donations to support military members and veterans. Items collected through the drive were distributed to local organizations serving those who have served our country.
The effort resulted in a strong outpouring of support from associates across the organization. At headquarters, associates created 62 handwritten care cards and collected several boxes of food, children's books, crafts, toys and household essentials for Ronald McDonald House of Central PA. Across the branch network, associates collected more than 30 boxes, along with bags and bins of winter gear and personal care items, benefiting six organizations that support veterans, service members and military families throughout the region.

"CU Kind Month gives us an opportunity to come together and make a difference in ways both big and small. Whether it's supporting families facing difficult circumstances or giving back to those who have served our nation, these acts of kindness strengthen our communities and remind us what can happen when people show up for one another."
