Members 1st Federal Credit Union ("Members 1st", "we", "our", or "us") values and respects your privacy.  This Online Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how we collect, process, use, and, in certain cases, disclose your personal information when you visit us online or on our mobile applications, or we provide services to you that link to this Policy (collectively our “Services”). 

This Policy applies to information we collect:

·       In communications, including email, text, chat, quick response (QR) code, and other electronic messages, between you and the Services.

It does not apply to information collected by:

·       Us offline or through any other means not set forth or described in this Policy.

·       Any third party that may link to or be accessible from or through the Services.

·       If you have obtained a financial product from us for personal, family, or household purposes, we will use and share any information that we collect from you or about you in accordance with our Privacy Notice. You have the right to limit some but not all sharing of this information.  You may opt out of information sharing by submitting the Non-Solicitation Opt Out form.

·       Our Biometric Authentication Privacy Notice outlines how we collect, use, retain and share your personal information in connection with identity verification and biometric authentication.

Changes to Our Online Privacy Policy

We may change this Policy from time to time and without prior notice to you. Please review it periodically. When we make changes to our Online Privacy Policy, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this Online Privacy Policy. Any changes to the Online Privacy Policy will become effective when we post the revised notice on our website. By continuing to access or use any of our Services after the changes go into effect, you agree to the practices regarding your personal information described in the updated Online Privacy Policy. 

Information That We Collect

"Personal Information" is information that identifies you. When you use any of our Services, we may collect Personal Information from you. The types and categories of Personal Information we collect or process may include, but is not limited to the following:

·       Financial and payment information, including your account number, membership identification number, transaction history, credit card or debit card information, and information about the payment methods and services (such as PayPal or Venmo) you use in connection with the Services.

·       Device information, information about your Internet browser, including the type and version, your Internet Protocol (IP) address, information collected through tracking technologies such as cookies or browser-based storage, or information about the device you are using, including carrier information.

·       Device contacts, camera images, and file storage.

·       Biometric information, such as voice recordings.

·       Usage details about your interactions with the Services, such as clickstream information to, through, and from our Services (including date and time), products that you view or search for; page response times, download errors, length of your visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), or methods used to browse away from a page, including, but not limited to, through session replay technology.

·       Any other information you provide to us through our forms, surveys, applications, or similar online fields in connection with the Services.

Personal Information does not include information we collect that does not or cannot be used to reasonably identify you personally.

·       You Provide Information to Us. We collect Personal Information that you provide to us when you interact with our Services, such as when you create or update an account, participate in surveys, sweepstakes, contests, or promotions, or create, upload, or post any content to the Services.

·       Automatically Through Our Services. As you interact with our Services, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect information that may include Personal Information (“Automatic Collection Technologies”). Information collected automatically may include usage details, IP addresses, operating system, and browser type, and information collected through cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies, including details of your interactions with our Services, such as traffic data, location data, logs, and other communication data, and which resources and Services features that you access and use.

·       From Third Parties Service Providers. We may receive Personal Information about you from service providers that we engage to perform services on our behalf.

How We Use the Information We Collect

The information we collect is used to improve our Services and deliver a better and more personalized online experience.

How We Disclose Your Personal Information

We may disclose aggregated information about our users, and information that does not identify any individual, without restriction.

We may also disclose Personal Information we collect about you in the following circumstances:

·       With trusted third parties who are contractually obligated to keep such information confidential and to use it only to deliver the products and the services requested by us or our members.

·       To comply with applicable law and regulation, other legal process, for compliance and law enforcement purposes, and otherwise as required or allowed by law.

Members 1st Partnership with Plaid, Inc.

Members 1st uses Plaid, Inc. (“Plaid”), to gather your Personal Information from financial institutions. By using the service, you grant Members 1st and Plaid the right, power, and authority to act on your behalf and to access, process, and transmit your Personal Information from your selected financial institution, including your account number, routing number, account balance, and other financial and Personal Information. You understand and agree that this Policy governs how Members 1st will use and process your Personal Information. You further understand and agree to your Personal Information being transferred, stored, and processed by Plaid in accordance with the Plaid end user privacy policy: Privacy and security policies | Plaid.

Understanding Cookies or Browser-Based Storage and Other Tracking Technologies

Using Automatic Collection Technologies helps us to improve our Services and to deliver a better and more personalized experience. By using our Services, you consent to our use of Automatic Collection Technologies as set forth herein. 

The Automatic Collection Technologies we use may include:

·       Cookies or Browser-based Storage. We use cookies or browser-based storage to gather data, and we use them to personalize or enhance your user experience. A cookie is a small file placed on your device when you interact with the Services. You may refuse to accept or disable cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser or device. These may be used to measure the effectiveness of our communications and our marketing campaigns, to compile statistics about usage and response rates, and to assist us in resolving issues that may arise on our sites.

We also use Google Analytics and similar tools to collect non-personally identifiable information when available (such as age, gender, and interests). These analytics tools provide us with a summary that is statistical in nature and cannot be tracked back to a specific individual. We use this information to assess the impact of website changes and to make improvements to our website. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy.

The Services do not respond to web browser “do not track” signals or other mechanisms that provide consumers the ability to exercise choice regarding the collection of personally identifiable information about an individual consumer's online activities over time and across third-party websites or online services.

How We Protect Your Personal Data

We take our responsibility to protect your Personal Information very seriously. To protect Personal Information from unauthorized access and use, we apply administrative, technical, and physical security measures that comply with applicable federal and state laws. You are also responsible for taking steps to protect your Personal Information against unauthorized use, disclosure, and access.

Minors' Personal Information

We respect the privacy of children and encourage all parents to supervise their children’s computer usage.  We do not knowingly collect or retain Personal Information from children under the age of thirteen years (13). 

Third-Party Websites and Social Media

Our Services may include links to other websites, platforms, or integrations that we do not manage. The privacy practices of these linked websites, platforms, or integrations are different from ours, and your information is governed by the privacy policies of those websites or platforms you use or visit. We encourage you to carefully read the privacy policy when visiting or using other websites or platforms managed by a third party. We do not guarantee and are not responsible for the privacy or security of those websites or platforms.

When you visit or use our Members 1st-branded pages on social media, the information you post or send us using the social media platform, will be subject to the privacy and security policies of the respective social media site. Please refer to them to better understand your rights and obligations when posting information.  Please keep in mind that any information you share could be visible to all participants on these social media sites and you should never post any sensitive personal information (such as your account number, membership identification number, or tax identification number).

No. Most financial institutions use the same format and language to provide consistency industry-wide. Members will receive the same type of notice from other banks, credit unions or mortgage lenders. Our regulators developed this notice format to help you understand and compare privacy practices.

We work with outside vendors for many reasons. All vendors must sign an agreement that limits how they use the data we share with them and we evaluate their ability to protect your information.

When sharing information such as a social security number or credit history it is for specific reasons, i.e. approving a loan. We only share the information that is absolutely necessary and this information will never be shared for marketing purposes.

Yes. You can opt-out of various marketing solicitations by completing the Opt-Out Non Solicitation form.
