Spring Home Décor Ideas on a Budget

Spring has sprung, making it the perfect time to refresh your home without breaking the bank! From colorful planters to creative front-door décor, these budget-friendly projects will make your porch shine this season. Grab your supplies, get crafty and have fun! 

 

Vertical Pallet Garden 

Put this next to your door for a fun twist on traditional hanging plants.

Supplies 

  • Wooden pallet (many home improvement stores offer used pallets for free) 

  • Small plastic planters repurposed from around the house and painted bright colors 

  • Three-inch ‘S’ hooks 

  • Drill 

  • Assortment of spring flowers 

  • Potting soil 

Directions 

  1. Drill a hole one inch below the rim of each planter.
  2. Insert an “S” hook into each hole.
  3. Fill planters with soil and flowers.
  4. Hang the planters on alternating pallet rows.
  5. Lean the pallet securely against the wall. 

Tip: Use herbs in your planters so you can enjoy fresh flavors as well as color! 

 

Front Door Refresh 

A freshly painted door instantly creates a brighter, more welcoming entryway.

Supplies 

  • Foam paint roller 

  • Paint in the color of your choice 

  • Newspapers or drop cloth 

  • Household cleaner and paper towels 

  • Replacement door handle that offsets the paint color (optional) 

Directions 

  1. Lay newspapers under the door to protect surfaces.
  2. Remove or cover the handle.
  3. Clean the door thoroughly and allow it to dry.
  4. Apply two coats of paint (or more if needed).
  5. Replace the handle once the door is dry. 

Tip: Choose a bold color to make a cheerful first impression! 

 

Spring Cornucopia Door Hanger 

Celebrate the abundance of spring with a welcoming door accent.

Supplies 

  • Small basket from a craft or discount store 

  • Assorted artificial or fresh flowers 

  • Note card 

  • Hot glue gun

Directions
