Visa Balance Transfer

A Visa Balance Transfer is used to pay off another high interest credit card with funds from a Members 1st credit card, typically at a promotional rate. 

Only our Visa Platinum Rewards, Visa Platinum Low Rate and Visa Signature (Points and Cash Back) are eligible for promotional rates. Our Platinum Secured and Platinum Business products are not eligible for promotional balance transfers. 

Balance transfers are only used to pay off other existing high-interest credit cards. They cannot be used to place funds into a checking or savings account. 

If you need to get cash from your Members 1st credit card, you can do so by performing a cash advance. This can be done at any branch location. You will need to have your Members 1st credit card and your driver’s license. This advance will post to your card at your regular interest rate. 

Don’t have a branch near you or know your credit card PIN? Call our Customer Service team at (800) 283-2328 to perform a cash advance over the phone. You will need to have your Members 1st credit card and your driver’s license available. This advance will post to your card at your regular interest rate.

Balance Transfers are only to pay off high-interest credit cards with other financial institutions, they may not be used to pay off an existing card or loan with Members 1st. 

You may only have 10 open balance transfers on your card at any given time. You can review your current transfers on your monthly statement. If you need assistance with your monthly billing statement, please call our Customer Service team at (800) 283-2328. 

Visit and log into online banking to submit your balance transfer electronically! Once logged in, click on our VBT offer page to review current offers and select what works best for you. 

If you do not use online banking, you may visit any branch location for assistance in filling out a paper request. 

You will need the name and address of the receiving institution, your card/account number at that institution and the amount of your request. 

All balance transfer requests can take up to 10 Business Days to be processed. You are responsible for any payments due to the receiving institution within that timeframe. 

Once submitted, our team will review and process your request. Should we have any questions on your transfer, we will reach out to you at the phone number listed on your account.

Any remaining balance will transfer to the regular interest rate of your card.
