Vertical Pallet Garden

Put this next to your door for a fun twist on traditional hanging plants.

Supplies

  • Pallet (Lowe's or Home Depot often give used ones away for free)
  • Small plastic planters repurposed from around the house and painted bright spring colors
  • 3-inch ‘S’ hooks
  • Drill
  • Assortment of spring flowers
  • Potting soil

Directions

  1. Drill a small hole in each planter about an inch below the rim. Insert an ‘S’ hook in the hole.
  2. Add soil and flowers to each pot.
  3. Lean the pallet against the wall.
  4. Attach the planters to every other row on the pallet in a fun design.
Front Door Refresh

Painting is a staple of home improvements for a reason—it brings a new look at a low cost.

Supplies

  • Foam paint roller
  • Your choice of paint (here are some great options!)
  • Newspapers
  • A door handle that offsets the paint color
  • Household cleaner and paper towels

Directions

  1. Spread newspapers below the door to catch paint drops. Remove the door handle.
  2. Clean the door with cleaner and paper towels.
  3. Paint the door with two paint coats (or more if needed).
  4. Replace the handle with new hardware once the door is dry.
Spring Cornucopia Door Hanger

  • Notecard
  • Hot glue gun
  • Markers
  • Wreath door hanger

Directions

  • Arrange the flowers in the basket.
  • Write "Welcome Spring!" on the notecard. Decorate it with doodles or spring-themed colors.
  • Affix the notecard to the front of the basket with the hot glue gun.
  • Hang it from the wreath hanger on your front door.
Spring Wreath

Wreaths are a favorite in any season, especially pastel-themed spring.

Supplies

  • Wreath base from Michaels
  • Hot glue gun
  • Spring-themed pastel decorations and flowers from Dollar Tree
  • Wreath door hanger

Directions

  1. Use the hot glue gun to decorate the wreath base.
  2. Hang it from the wreath hanger on your front door.
The "Spring Is Here" Motif

You have most of the materials sitting around the house!

Supplies

  • Anything that makes you think of spring: gardening tools, seed packets, pastel-colored pillows, rainboots, decorative umbrellas
  • Old wooden or plastic crate
  • Flowers purchased from a farmer's market
  • Old vases or glass bottles

Directions

  • Channel your creativity into a spring-themed motif outside your front door. Put flowers in the vases, fill them with jellybeans, and balance them on the crate.
  • Grab a ladybug magnet from your refrigerator and attach it to a rain boot. Have fun and make yourself smile.
